We are looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our 2025 Kubota Kaizen Dealer of Excellence title-winning dealership at Bonneville Equipment of Sandy.
This job is more than just turning wrenches. What You’ll Do
As an experienced Diesel Mechanic, you will diagnose, service, maintain, and repair agricultural Kubota equipment.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Inspects equipment for proper performance and determines faults and malfunctions.
- Troubleshooting and diagnosis: adjust equipment & repair/replace parts, components, or systems according to the scope of work.
- Tests repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performance
- Commission New Equipment,
- Provide customer training as required.
- Completes accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, etc.
- Stays current with the industry, customer product developments, and technical best practices.
- Builds strong relationships with internal and external customers to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
- Ensures customer satisfaction within the area of primary responsibility.
- Complies with safety policies and applicable regulatory, customer, or industry requirements.
- Strives to find safer ways for customers to work with Kubota products
- Communicate effectively with the Service Manager, Parts Department, and other dealership personnel regarding repair needs and job progress.
- Assist with field repairs or service calls when needed.
- Maintain tools, equipment, work areas, and service vehicles in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
- Follow company safety procedures and applicable workplace and environmental requirements.
- Participate in Kubota/manufacturer training and continuing technical education to stay current with new equipment, systems, and diagnostic technology.
- Assist and share technical knowledge with less experienced technicians when appropriate.
What We’re Looking For
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on diesel, agricultural equipment, heavy equipment, or closely related mechanical repair experience.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine diagnosis, maintenance, and repair.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic and hydrostatic systems.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including the ability to use diagnostic equipment, digital multimeters, wiring diagrams, and service information.
- Experience diagnosing mechanical failures rather than simply replacing components.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals, schematics, service bulletins, and repair procedures.
- Ability to safely operate tractors, loaders, compact construction equipment, and other machinery necessary to diagnose and verify repairs.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring equipment, and shop diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team-oriented service department.
- Ability to manage multiple repair assignments and complete work accurately and efficiently.
- Dependable work habits and a commitment to quality workmanship and workplace safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Kubota experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience working in an agricultural, heavy equipment, or construction equipment dealership.
- Manufacturer-specific technical training or certifications.
- Experience with Tier 4 diesel engines and emissions systems.
- Experience with electronic diagnostic software and computerized equipment systems.
- Experience performing major engine, transmission, drivetrain, or hydraulic component repairs.
- HVAC diagnosis and repair experience is a plus.
- Previous field-service experience is beneficial.
